DEATH ROW

I was just thinking about the death penalty and the innocent people who are probably twiddling their thumbs waiting for their turn to die. Horribly scary, no doubt. But, fortunately, because of the advancements in technology and forensics, nowadays, some innocent people are getting released and compensated financially for the 'inconvenience' and the time they served for crimes they did not commit. Not that there's a price to freedom, mind you, because for some people, it took decades for redemption. I doubt that any amount of money would've made up for the time that that 70-year old man spent in prison after he was erroneously charged and convicted wrongfully for a murder he didn't commit... when he was 19.

Honestly, if I were on death row (or serving a life sentence) and I was innocent for it, and I had been in prison for about 20 years--heck, even 10 years--and suddenly they tell me that science has just proven my innocence and that my release and compensation is being arranged... I'd probably tell them I don't want their money, not to touch anything in my cell, and to tell the license plate factory to not take me out of the work schedule just yet. I just want to know where the person who ID'd me lives...

...and that I'll be right back.

If The Founding Fathers Knew About Drama, Would They Have Given Us Freedom Of Speech?

For over 2 years I blogged in an 'underground' blogging community.

62,880 hits, 10,057 comments, 12,247 'likes' (or at least, the equivalent of the FB 'like'),  981934871294712381 moments of pure drama, and encounters with about 1923419237 keyboard warriors later...

I thought I'd bring my world of warcrap somewhere else.

See, I like to talk. I would even say that the amount of talking I do sometimes feels like some sort of sickness already. Sometimes, it seems like I blurt things out before I can even process them properly in my head. Hence, "TALKARRHEA"--'cause I just can't hold it in.

I would be the first to admit that my mouth has often gotten me in trouble. And in this world of internet badasses, who twist everything you write about so they can start conflict, I've pretty much received more than my fair share of bitchassness and jackassery from people who may have gotten butthurt about things I may have had opinions on.  Big drama... EVEN BIGGER ENTERTAINMENT! Not to say that I genuinely enjoy hurting other people's feelings--I am not an evil creature borne straight from the bowels of hell--I guess I just kinda enjoy the ride and back-and-forths.  It usually starts with getting defensive and taking the things I say  wayyyy too seriously (swearing up and down that I wrote a blog about them--people I have never met), then they start trying to change my opinions... and then the real fun begins.

I have been called so many names (my favorite being 'Chopstick Skank') when people have just thrown in the towel in their quest to change my mind about some things I just have a different opinion on. It's not even just about stuff I write about. Some just completely piss haterade on anything that I put up on my blog. I find it exceptionally amusing when people who look like they've been beaten with an ugly stick have the audacity to talk crap about MY pictures (And on a completely unrelated note, I love the digs about my song selections in my music player: "You're an ugly bitch! AND YOUR MUSIC PLAYER SUCKSSSS!").  Some of them have gotten their little friends to try to gang up on me... and I don't know why they seem to think that having 10 people telling me off on a blog would make me want to dash for the hills. Babies, it's not a real-life throwdown. For some reason, though, I get particularly excited when the threats start coming out. I would provide screenshots, but they updated the system in that blogsite again, and it deleted over a year of comments. :( Darn. I really wanted to share the ridiculous battles that these keyboard warriors have waged upon me over the last couple of years. Suffice it to say that I have even had somebody tell me that they would love to shoot my face with a semi-automatic and pour hyrdrochloric acid all over my decomposing body.

But I don't thrive on drama. Really, I don't. I already have a lot of that going on in my life outside of the interwebz.  It's just that no matter where I hide, drama seems to always find me. Can't a girl say something without somebody's panties getting twisted up in a bunch? Or maybe, people just like to create controversy out of nothing, because it makes their lives more... interesting.  When I first started blogging, all I wanted was to find an outlet to sort out my thoughts, because it's always easier to gain some perspective when your thoughts are all laid out and written before you--I'd start an actual diary, but I also find that it can be helpful (and innnnneresting) to get other people's take on things.  But, apparently, that is just not the case when you have an internet journal. Everybody's a critic, everybody's a target, and everybody just plain wants to jump your nuts for anything and everything.
